DFM Review for CNC Milled Parts

Before quotation, our engineer reviews wall thickness, internal corner radius, deep pockets, tapped holes, tolerance stack-up and surface finish requirements. If a feature may increase machining cost or risk, we provide practical manufacturing suggestions before production.

DFM Notes:

  • Internal sharp corners may require radius adjustment;
  • Deep pockets may increase machining time; tight tolerance holes may require reaming or boring;
  • Cosmetic surfaces should be clearly marked on 2D drawings;
  • Anodizing thickness should be considered for critical dimensions.

CNC Milling FAQ

What parts are best suited for CNC milling?

Housings, brackets, plates, frames, heat sinks and parts with pockets, slots, holes and complex surfaces.

Can you machine aluminum parts with anodizing?

Yes. We commonly machine aluminum parts and provide anodizing, hard anodizing and other surface treatments.

Can you hold ±0.005 mm tolerance on milled parts?

It depends on material, geometry, feature size and inspection method. We review critical dimensions before confirming.

Do you support prototypes and low-volume production?

Yes. We support prototyping, small batches, and scalable production.

Do you support threaded holes and reamed holes?

Yes. We support drilling, tapping, boring and reaming according to drawing requirements.

What files should I send for a milling quote?

Please send 3D STEP/STP/IGS files and 2D PDF drawings with material, quantity, tolerance and surface finish.
